🧠 Availability Calculator: Choosing Your Sales Method

This training walks you through how to determine which sales strategy — Consultation Sale or First Class Sale — is best for your gym, based on your weekly availability during prime sales hours. You’ll use a custom-built Availability Calculator Sheet to input your time blocks and get an automatic recommendation for your optimal sales approach.

🛠️ What You’ll Learn

  • The two main sales models used by successful gym owners

  • The time requirements for each method

  • How to use the Availability Calculator to make a data-driven decision

  • Why being honest about your availability is crucial for your success

🧩 Key Concepts

🔹 Consultation Sale

  • Requires 10+ hours/week of availability during prime hours:

    • Monday–Friday: 8:00–11:00 AM and 4:00–7:00 PM

    • Saturday: 9:00–11:00 AM (optional bonus slot)

  • Must have availability in:

    • At least 2 mornings per week

    • At least 3 evenings per week

  • Pros: Typically higher cash down

  • Cons: Lower show rates; requires dedicated space and focused time

🔹 First Class Sale

  • Ideal for those with <10 hours/week of prime availability

  • Better suited if:

    • Your prime-time hours are limited

    • You can only offer 1 morning or 0–2 evenings per week

  • Pros: Higher show rates, integrated into class experience

  • Cons: Lower cash down; can require more operational coordination

📊 How to Use the Availability Calculator

  1. Open the Availability Calculator Sheet linked below this video.

  2. Mark your available times by selecting checkboxes in the grid.

    • Yellow cells indicate prime hours.

  3. As you input your available blocks, the sheet will automatically calculate whether you qualify for:

    • Consultation Sale, or

    • First Class Sale

  4. Use this result to choose your sales method and move forward with confidence.

✅ Tips for Success

  • Be realistic. Don’t overestimate your schedule. Enter only what you can truly commit to each week.

  • Consistency is key. Set times should be reliable so prospects can book and show with confidence.

  • Re-evaluate later. If you can’t do Consultation Sales now, no worries. You can loop back when your availability increases.
