🥗 Post-Challenge Nutrition: Implementation Guide

This guide walks you through the Post-Challenge Nutrition Plan delivery process—whether you’re running a large group model or semi-private training. It includes implementation structure, pricing recommendations, macro/calorie setup, and automation tips to maximize retention and upsell potential.

🔍 When to Use

  • Immediately following a client’s final weigh-out (Week 6)

  • During the Week 10 check-in to review compliance and results

  • As prep for a potential upsell into Nutrition & Accountability (N&A)

🏋️ Gym Type-Specific Nutrition Delivery

🔹 Large Group Facilities

  • Use the template nutrition plan outlined below

  • Do not offer custom macros unless part of an upsell (e.g. N&A)

    • Includes:

      • 3x fitness sessions/week

📊 The Simplified Post-Challenge Nutrition Plan

1. Total Daily Calories

Use the multiplier chart to estimate total daily calories:

Goal Type Multiplier
Extreme Weight Loss 7–9× BW
Moderate Weight Loss 10–11× BW
Maintenance 12–13× BW
Moderate Weight Gain 14–16× BW
Extreme Weight Gain 17–21× BW

Example:
200 lb client × 10 (moderate weight loss) = 2,000 calories/day

2. Protein Goal

  • Use 4 calories/gram of protein

  • Multiply body weight × 4
(Protein grams = 1× BW in lbs)

Example:
200 lbs × 4 = 800 calories from protein = 200g protein

3. Flexible Calories

  • The rest of their daily intake (i.e. 2,000 - 800 = 1,200 calories) can come from any food source

  • Requirement: Protein must come from approved lean sources

4. Tracking

  • Encourage clients to track in Trainerize or MyFitnessPal

  • Demo during weigh-out, or…

  • Send 1-time tutorial video to streamline onboarding

💡 Bonus Tips

  • Most clients will lose 15–25 lbs in the challenge if coached effectively

  • Don’t allow post-challenge calorie plans to become overly restrictive—focus on sustainability

  • Reverse diet if client dropped significant weight (e.g., 25–30 lbs)

⏱️ Automation & Scalability

  • Use a template video to explain how to track macros and calories (send after weigh-out)

  • Provide a calendar link for N&A clients to book coaching calls when needed (80/20 rule applies)

  • At Week 10 or 12, assess results and consider upselling into N&A

🔁 Follow-Up

  • Reassess progress at Week 10 Check-in

  • Upsell to N&A at Week 10 or Week 12

  • Use data to build retention, boost results, and reduce churn

🧠 Summary

  • Match your nutrition support level to your facility model

  • Use simplified calculations for large groups

  • Customize and scale nutrition coaching efficiently

  • Upsell when clients are ready, but deliver value immediately post-challenge
