Creating and Managing Groups in Trainerize

Creating a group inside Trainerize is a powerful way to build community, keep clients accountable, and boost motivation—especially during challenges like your Six Week program. This guide walks you through how to create a group, customize its settings, add members, and keep engagement high with Gym Lords best practices.

🛠️ Step 1: Create a New Group

  1. In the sidebar, click “Groups.”

  2. Select “Create New Group.”

  3. Give your group a name (e.g., Six Week Challenge – [Your Gym Name]).

  4. Choose an icon that represents the group vibe.

  5. Set posting permissions to allow everyone to post for maximum interaction and community hype.

  6. Click Add Group to finalize.

Tip: Name your group clearly so it's easy to identify during multiple challenges.

⚙️ Step 2: Customize Group Settings

  1. Click the three dots (•••) next to the group to open settings.

  2. Adjust notification preferences:

    • All notifications: Great for full visibility.

    • Mentions and reactions only: Ideal for reduced noise.

    • None: For silent admins or observers.

  3. Decide if you want to celebrate:

    • Completed cardio sessions

    • Habit streaks

    • Daily nutrition or fitness goals

    • Other achievements

🎉 These automated updates can help spark encouragement from other group members.

👥 Step 3: Add Members to the Group

  1. Click the “Members” tab inside the group.

  2. Click “Add Member.”

  3. Search for and add a client (e.g., Tina Turner).

  4. After adding, post a welcome message to get other members engaged in welcoming them.

💬 Example: “Welcome Tina to the Six Week Challenge! 🎉 Let’s show her some love!”

💬 Step 4: Post and Engage

Inside the group chat, you can:

  • Post updates, reminders, and motivational content

  • Add emojis, images, files, or workouts

  • Use @everyone to notify the whole group

  • Respond to client posts or questions directly

🗣️ Keep the momentum alive by posting consistently—especially at the start and end of each week.

🤖 Bonus: Let the Community Help Itself

One powerful strategy:

  • Keep past challengers in the group

  • They often answer questions before you do

  • Their energy and input helps build social proof and reduce your workload

🔥 "My veteran clients would answer questions before I could—just like I would have. That kind of group culture is gold."
