This guide explains how to launch your newly simplified website if you're keeping your existing site (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, etc.) rather than using a Gym Launch template. The goal is to deactivate your old version and publish the new, simplified clone — all while maintaining your existing domain (e.g., www.abcfitness.com).

✅ When to Use This Guide

Only follow this if:

  • You are not using a Gym Launch template

  • You’ve made a clone of your current website and simplified it

  • You’re ready to go live by replacing the old site with your new version

❗ Skip this guide entirely if you are using a Gym Launch website template. Instead, follow the "Launching with a Gym Launch Template" section.

🔧 Step-by-Step Instructions

1. 📁 Confirm You Have Two Versions of Your Site

You should now have:

  • Original Website – Your live, unedited site with your domain attached

  • Cloned Website – Your simplified version, edited inside the platform but not yet live

Make sure the clone contains all edits, forms, automation links, and mobile responsiveness before proceeding.

2. 🚀 Publish the New Website

In your platform (e.g., Wix, WordPress, Squarespace):

  1. Log into your website builder account

  2. Go to the cloned/simplified version

  3. Find the option to publish or make live — often labeled:

    • “Publish”

    • “Go Live”

    • “Set as Live Site”

3. 📴 Unpublish the Old Website

  1. Navigate to the original website

  2. Look for an option like:

    • “Unpublish”

    • “Draft”

    • “Archive”

    • “Disable”

  3. Apply that setting so only the new version is live going forward

4. 🔗 Transfer Your Custom Domain

You must move the domain (e.g., www.abcfitness.com) from the old site to the new one.

Here’s how:

  • Go to your Domain or Site Settings

  • Find an option to assign or transfer domain

  • Choose your custom domain and reassign it to the new website

5. 🕒 Wait for DNS Propagation

It may take up to 4–6 hours for domain changes to fully take effect.

6. 🔍 Test the Domain

Before moving on, make absolutely sure of the following:

  • Visit your website URL (e.g., www.abcfitness.com)

  • Ensure it now loads the new, simplified site

  • Test on mobile and desktop

  • Click through: Forms, buttons, navigation, booking flows

✅ If everything works and points to the new site, you’re officially LIVE!

If after several hours your domain still points to the old site:
