Using the Weekly Weigh-In Sheet to Track and Coach Client Progress

The Weekly Weigh-In Sheet is a core accountability and tracking tool used during the 6-week challenge. It allows both coaches and clients to monitor weekly progress in weight and body fat, catch non-compliance early, and optimize results through timely nutrition or training adjustments.

Purpose of the Weigh-In Sheet:

  • Track Progress: Monitor each client’s weight and body fat weekly to identify trends or stagnation.

  • Ensure Accountability: Keep clients engaged and consistent by requiring weekly weigh-ins.

  • Support Retention: Provides a simple visual overview to praise progress and drive deeper commitment.

  • Drive Intervention: Spot red flags and intervene with coaching adjustments as needed.

When to Use It:

  • At the end of each client's final workout for the week (weeks 1–5 of the challenge).

  • During the nutrition orientation (Week 0) to record initial weight and body fat.

  • Week 6 results are collected during the Final Weigh-Out Meeting, not self-recorded.

Setup Instructions:

  1. One Sheet per Cohort:

    • A cohort = clients sold within the same 2-week period.

    • Each cohort has its own sheet.

  2. Placement:

    • Keep the sheet on a clipboard near the scale and body fat scanner.

    • Ensure pens/pencils are available so clients can self-record.

  3. Initial Setup (Week 0):

    • Input each challenger’s full name in the Name column.

    • Fill in their initial weight and body fat under “Week 0” (from sales or orientation).

  4. Weekly Routine (Weeks 1–5):

    • At the end of each client’s final session of the week, prompt them to weigh in and record.

    • Train clients to use the scanner and log data themselves when possible.

    • Coach or client enters data into the corresponding weekly column.

  5. Final Week (Week 6):

    • Clients do not self-weigh in.

    • All Week 6 data is recorded by the coach during the final weigh-out meeting.

    • This ensures the client shows up and doesn’t skip the closing appointment.

Optional: Digital Backup

  • At week’s end, transfer sheet data into a digital spreadsheet to:

    • Maintain long-term records.

    • Track weight loss trends across cohorts.

    • Adjust individual client plans or praise wins with specific metrics.

Best Practices:

  • Remind clients weekly to weigh in and fill out the sheet.

  • Praise wins publicly in your Facebook/Trainerize group.

  • Use the sheet to support conversion conversations by showing tangible progress.
